First to post. Yay!. Anyway I am sort of stuck. I translated it, not the right answer. Any suggestions?

Well what looks like the main message seems to be a misdirection. I think the real answer must lay in the picture and the message underneath it. Anyone making progress on these?

Yay for lunch hour and being in the Eastern US time zone.

Okay, so I figured it out, but am not sure what to do now. Is this supposed to lead me to the next puzzle? Are we not allowed to post our findings on this message board?

If you truly figured it out you should know where to go. I would say some internet savvy is required.
The solution or direction of the puzzles will not always be apparent. That is the purpose of the message board. To talk it out.
I think it would be best if the answers were not posted, at least not on this board (feel free to create your own elsewhere to discuss).
I will be monitoring this for most of the day. I will not always be available but will help when I can.

It seems like a few folks have figured it out but I’m still confused. I use the internet but I wouldn’t say I’m savvy. Is the cryptoquote a red herring and should I look at the picture and subheading more?

One last try before the weekend, I am stuck on the fourth word under the fox and dog. Could someone give me a clue about the 2nd, third, fourth or fifth letter?

LAWL, I forgot to mention. The picture, whether it means anything or not, seems to represent the old saying, “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.” This sentence is often used to test a keyboards functionality by using every letter in the alphabet atleast once. Not sure if this is a clue or not. It may indicate the cipher being used, since A-Z is used from the saying it could be the indicator to use the substitution cipher. Don’t know, I could be waaaayyyyy off. Funny I thought of this after actually implementing the cipher. Might be why it makes sense to me now. /speculation I’m out.

“The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” is an important clue to the second cipher, but in a rather subtle way.

I’m not 100% convinced that the puzzle2 page is meaningful. You can try to go to cluechaser.com/puzzleX where X is anything and it will still redirect you there. The four jpegs that are there are tantalisingly-named but there doesn’t seem to be anything special about them.

I think the key is that bottom cipher.

The parts you’ve translated are correct, oecumenix. Think of the 4th word in the bottom part as a string of letters, rather than a word.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I solved now. Thanks Jack Hare.

I’m still hung up. Anyone care to give a further hint about the mysterious word of the second cipher?

“The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” would imply that the cipher includes every letter of the alphabet. This doesn’t seem to illuminate anything, though.

^_^ My pleasure. This is fun!

Here’s a hint, tower: your own post, above, contains the mystery word…just not all at once.

ah yes, jack hare, if you will believe me, I figured it out myself a split second before I saw your post–in fact, I had just clicked “back” from the next puzzle to update my message board post!

I believe it — in that case, happy to not have been of help! :D

A good site for solving cryptograms is http://oneacross.com/cryptograms/. Type in the cypher, and it can give you suggestions, or just keep track of your own guesses (the honest way).

I still don’t understand “ADINPKAUY” myself.

I figured out the word, but I am not sure how to enter it.

    Never mind I got it.
