Okay…seems like the idea is to find a URL again. For the moment I’m going to go with the very obvious candidate for the site to start at — noting that it may be an eye-catching red herring.
December 10th, 2007 at 4:54 pm
Seems like figuring out where that place is would probably be pretty important. A quick scan of a map didn’t reveal anything obvious among the big things, though it could be someplace small. I’ll think about it more later.

I’m not saying you’re going to need it but just in case you do you can use:
email = (hint) The name of this game’s website @ gmail.com
password = (hint) What you’re trying to solve + “1″
Please don’t do anything but solve the puzzle, if you need it that is. Maybe you don’t. Maybe this is a red herring.

Aha, found it!
December 10th, 2007 at 11:54 pm
Incidentally there appears to be a real user, with no apparent signs of affiliation, under the handle ‘Joe (common misspelling of the place name)’. So if you come up with a profile that has a photo of an actual person on it, you’ve not got the right one and should not bother said user. ^_^

gah.. assuming the place is an island, http://www.intute.ac.uk/sciences/worldguide/worldmap.html may help to look for it.
December 12th, 2007 at 5:37 am
Looked through an atlas, didn’t see anything that matched. Either I’m thinking about this wrong, or I’m not being very observant.
December 12th, 2007 at 5:54 am
Me either. The only thing I’ve seen that comes close is Australia, and that’s still miles off.
Makes me wonder whether the image is the correct shape, or whether it needs to be flipped/stretched at all.

I think I know what the land mass is, but I can’t figure out what to do with it… hmmm
December 12th, 2007 at 8:28 pm
Sorry for posting twice in a row, but do any of the other letters or numbers in the picture have anything to do with anything? I can see: EAW, 200, BH, 400, MO (maybe mot (which is french for word LOL))
This game is really good for my self esteem

I’m willing to share what island I believe is on the shirt if noone is against it. I’m pretty sure of what it is. I’m done for tonight.
December 12th, 2007 at 10:47 pm
Well, I’m coming up empty on the landmass.
December 13th, 2007 at 12:08 am
I think it has to do with color of the myspace logo.
It is inverted from the actual logo.
If you invert the JPG the “Island” turns blue.
Maybe we are looking for a body of water.
December 13th, 2007 at 1:36 am
Well it’s about my bed time, lucky I work second shift.
The image is of an Audio Engineering Society Convention.
Not sure where or when but I would guess the U.S.
I could find no body of water or land mass that resembled the T-shirt image near the last few convention locations.
Here is the link to the AES

The landmass in question 1) is not stretched or otherwise distorted, 2) is not on any planet other than Earth, 3) is not fictional, and 4) does not exist.
December 13th, 2007 at 6:32 am
Nice clues Jack Hare.
December 13th, 2007 at 9:44 am
Jack Hare’s difficulty in post 7 makes me think I should definitely have a positive identification of the T-shirt image before I try to connect it to the website. The fact that the landmass “does not exist” makes me think I should stop wasting time poring over Google Earth. Should I try a different tack on identifying the T-shirt?
December 13th, 2007 at 10:05 am
Thanks Jack Hare.
I have the Land Mass.
I guess it’s a matter of TIME before I figure out what to do with it.
December 13th, 2007 at 11:37 am
If you found Joe, then you are now on #5. And the beginning of the harder ones (in my opinion). Congrats.
December 13th, 2007 at 11:56 am
ok, got the landmass, with hints.
December 13th, 2007 at 7:12 pm
Now just how to connect it…. bleh
December 14th, 2007 at 4:26 am
Okay, “does not exist” was enough, given a few moments of thought. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a picture of it before, because it doesn’t look familiar, although I would have thought that I would have.
December 20th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
The word r is derived from Ancient Greek.
If that doesn’t work try researching “Tectonics”, also derived from Ancient Greek.
December 26th, 2007 at 9:05 pm
alrighty, getting here wasn’t too bad.
I’m nowhere on this.
I got that its a landmass maybe and myspace..
I think I need some sleep
December 26th, 2007 at 9:06 pm
oh and man the dude in the shirt looks familiar
December 29th, 2007 at 1:01 am
Good hints people, especially the ‘tectonics’ one. Got a positive ID on the landmass but no further. So I take it there’s more to the username than ‘_Joe’?
December 29th, 2007 at 1:02 am
That was supposed to say ‘(landmass)_Joe’

User names have to be unique, but one of the major social networking sites allows many people to use the same name, so they can talk to “Fred” and not “Fred867″. When you search for names on such a site, you search their public name, not their user name.
Also users can make their names non-public, so searching won’t find it.
There’s a way to look for usernames instead of public names. If you don’t know how, just browse a few users on the site, many people use the method right in their pages.
