Me first! (Maybe for the only time)

But it’s time for me to correct papers and then get to bed. Hope you don’t get too far ahead before tomorrow…

Connecting the dots didn’t do much.

not getting far with a substitution cipher for

RUMAD EPP BLAB FWA ASAN GWHP TFMB LLCE

The “BLAB” and “LLCE” present problems.

I don’t see where this one is going.

Help I have been left behind and I am now lost.

Right here with you Kewljenoh. Question for you, do you think the question/clues from the typos can be read straight across as in post 8 or do they need to deciphered or rearranged?

ARUMAD = AR U MAD = Are you mad? Is just too tempting to leave alone but I may be off track.

    OK - I’m back.
I found 8 letters that are incorrectly capitalized in the personals, and the one headline is missing an A. Are there other typos?

I’ve tried lining up the constellation with other clues but haven’t found anything that seems to be a good fit.

    Are those bullet holes?

  14. UncleBen Says:
    April 3rd, 2008 at 8:16 am

Is it significant where the pencil holes or bullet holes are located on newspaper?

  15. mrsmathteacher Says:

Well - I’ve scoured through some constellation diagrams and haven’t found a match - YET.

If I do, I can guess which letters might be in its name.

  16. UncleBen Says:

    Two possibilities:

    1. Typos in Personals ad yielding some kind of sentence to determine password. Can get a few words but nothing complete.

    2. Bullet hole in constellation picture matches a second bullet/pencil hole to the right of “Personals”. Cut out holes in constellation and aligned matching bullet/pencil holes and read the words revealed in alphabetical order but found a nonsensical sentence.

    The holes helped.

UncleBen - do you have 8 letters?

I discovered that 5 out of the 8 make a word significant to constellation nomenclature. But my leftover 3 don’t fit.

I’m really leaning towards those holes making a known constellation, but I still can’t find it.

I get a broken phrase when I omit the words that are should capitalized gramamtically. But, haven’t been able to get letters after following the phrase’s instructions.

    Ha!

Had both at once without knowing it.

Never mind. “Alpha” was just a good red herring. Was that on purpose Cowpattybill?

UncleBen’s #2 is an excellent observation.

That was pretty good. On to the next one.

Okay I’ve got all the words from the constellation over the article but I’ve hit a brick wall. What am I missing?
