Yeah, I made it. Although Cowpatty I think there is a mistake in the braille. The two is not correct.
April 3rd, 2008 at 10:05 am
Usually there is a number-shift-then-letter to show numbers.
April 3rd, 2008 at 10:12 am
Well, I downloaded a braille font and used that so the problem lies in the way the font does it. I checked the message several times and it says what I want it to say.
Not sure how to fix it. Forunately it isn’t bad enough that you can’t get to the next puzzle so I’m going to leave it for now.
April 3rd, 2008 at 10:14 am
no problem. This puzzle is brilliant. I am pretty sure I know the key, but it is going to take me a while to find the answer I think.
April 3rd, 2008 at 10:25 am
Still not sure what the info hidden in the “eighteen” puzzle was…
April 3rd, 2008 at 10:38 am
Just the number 18. It’s part of the sentence.
April 3rd, 2008 at 10:52 am
This one seems a little more complicated than a substitution-cipher with all of the punctuation.
Folks seem to be blazing through so if anyone is still hammering away on this one, feel free to toss out any useful ideas/tips/hints.
I think we’re 12 hours behind which used to mean nothing but is rapidly starting to mean way behind…

UncleBen,
“Folks seem to be blazing through so if anyone is still hammering away on this one, feel free to toss out any useful ideas/tips/hints.”
It has to do with peoples typing.
April 3rd, 2008 at 12:13 pm
Maybe we were using the wrong keyboard.
=)
April 3rd, 2008 at 12:24 pm
Maybe not, the other key board members are letting us down…
April 3rd, 2008 at 12:50 pm
If it’s not upside down and it’s not a shift to the left or right, what else is there?
April 3rd, 2008 at 12:50 pm
Introducing the kings of the double entendre.

April 3rd, 2008 at 1:03 pm
UncleBen,
“it’s not upside down and it’s not a shift to the left or right”
Is this a problem you have to see a doctor about?
Maybe even get a second opinion?
April 3rd, 2008 at 1:08 pm
I would fly out to help you myself, but I hate layovers.
April 3rd, 2008 at 1:57 pm
UncleBen,
If you do see a doctor, make sure he doesn’t double-bill.
April 3rd, 2008 at 2:46 pm
So close.
Is the password the second research project?
If so, we have the first six letters but the last letter doesn’t make sense. We also had a few extraneous letters. Are we missing something?
Close enough that even a subtle hint could spring us through without giving the whole thing away.
April 3rd, 2008 at 3:10 pm
We got an extra letter on the end of each line with a few periods. Is this a typo or relevant?
April 3rd, 2008 at 3:27 pm
Dr. Q. Werty and I have to go home.
Good luck all.

April 3rd, 2008 at 3:59 pm
I’ve got it deciphered, but I am also unsure of what to do with these extra letters. Besides a couple of obvious typo’s I have a word that I don’t recognize at all - or is it 4 extra letters at the end of that one?
April 3rd, 2008 at 4:08 pm
I had three extra Letters. I wasn’t sure if they were typos or what, but it didn’t stop the method I used from working.
One on line 4
One on line 6
One on line 14
All the same letter.
April 3rd, 2008 at 4:17 pm
You must be kidding Gulrad.
In detail - I have an extra(to the message) letter on the end of every line except 14.
I have typos - wrong letters in a word - on lines 4 and 9.
It seems that line 9 actually has 4 extra letters at the end.
The end of line 12 is also a bit suspicious - missing letters?
April 3rd, 2008 at 4:20 pm
I meant 5 total at the end of line 9.
April 3rd, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Never mind - stupid, stupid me…
April 3rd, 2008 at 4:50 pm
Are you saying I have some typos but that they don’t prevent you from correctly solving the puzzle? Someone shoot me an email and let me know where the errors are so I can fix them. My puzzle checker person must have missed them.
April 3rd, 2008 at 4:58 pm
Cowpattybill,
Sent to admin.

Still not getting it. Even after the tips and hints. Even after finally using the key to unlock the memo. Still can’t make the connection. Puzzle 7 is a long way from Puzzle 10, is there someone who can drop the vital piece/hint which will help us finally get it. I’m glad folks ruled out the extraneous bits of lettering but that was our only lead as of last night.
Still interested in playing but mired in the mud.
April 4th, 2008 at 9:37 am
“ruled out the extraneous bits of lettering ”
Why?
April 4th, 2008 at 10:31 am
Because of previous posts.
There was no consistency in the number found and it appeared they were artifacts that did not hinder the actually solution…
April 4th, 2008 at 10:42 am
I looked into the errors that gulrad sent me and they aren’t errors. Also, the ones he pointed out had nothing to do with extraneous letters.
April 4th, 2008 at 10:44 am
UncleBen -I’m not sure you have the correct method for decoding. Have you tried googling the doctors names?
April 4th, 2008 at 10:50 am
I’ve been to two doctors already and they both gave me only half of the story. I put it together and got a nice tale.
It may be an error in typing but we had extra bits after interpreting what they were telling us. An extra letter or two at the end of each line that didn’t seem to fit.
After the posts after our comment on this we started to believe it was just a transcription error and meant nothing.
We then tried following some of the advice in the doctor’s notes but to no avail.
Somehow we just don’t get it.
April 4th, 2008 at 11:11 am
My suggestion is to verify that the extraneous letters are correct then try putting them in some sort of order.
April 4th, 2008 at 12:46 pm
Done. Finally.
