With the MJ puzzles you need to proceed one step at a time. Keep moving forward, except when the landmarks on the map say so.
There is a slight difficulty in working backwards to figure out the turns, but if you know where you should have been coming from, the choices can be minimized.
I always try to step through and locate the landmarks first, then search for the clues.
I hope this is of help, I don’t want to give too much away…
The footsteps indicate how far (how many blue dots) you need to travel in any direction. When you get there, the next picture helps you determine which direction to go next.
The pictures and questions below the map are things you have to find along the way and are not necessarily in order but you should never have to leave the path to find them. Sometimes leaving the path may help you get a better look at something but shouldn’t be necessary.
While creating it, I found it necessary sometimes to make sure I was looking down in front of me enough or else I started counting on the wrong dot because I didn’t see the one directly in front of me.
The trolley car is different from normal but once you figure how to get on it, where you need to take it to should be fairly obvious. MJ has a search feature on the right.
I know this is a fairly direct answer. I will probably delete it. Let me know when you’ve read it.
Also, this is the last piece of the map, I promise.

If you find the girl, there should only be one perspective that is valid. Usually fo landmarks on the map, you should be standing in an intersection to get the perpective.
If you can get to the girl, all clues are from there on.
There are lots of trees, but the one you want is fairly easy to notice, but only if you find it…it will stand out.
The second trolley has clues en-route though.
I went all the way to the end of the line and haven’t found the girl yet. Going to start back tracking and maybe the reverse perspective will help.

If you are at the second tram try #26 then something in #20 will help speed your travel to the jump off point.
being aware of the suns direction and the shadows it casts also speeds up the search.
