Hmm… I wonder if the numbers are important. I can’t really read them though. :/

Hmm… my first impression was that this one was going to be a lot easier, but the opposite is true.

The obvious is getting me nowhere…I guess I have no choice but to wait here for help…

Wow! I find it interesting how quietly people are playing it this time. There are several people on #2 at the moment and for the most part, everyone is keeping mum. The stakes are high I guess.

Pretty sure I have the first step done. Can’t quite figure out what to do next, though.

Anyone get this? I think I have the first step done also, but all of the things I try next don’t work…

I’m curious about this “first step”. Can you explain what you mean? You can send me an email if you prefer.

Thanks for the email mrsmathteacher.

I’m not sure if i’ve figured out the “first step”, but I have found something interesting,.. though it may be Jack…

OK guys - I’ve tried anagrams and cryptograms and I can’t get them to work.

I gave up on the illegible numbers.

Has anyone made any progress?

I thought I got something with the numbers, couldn’t really read them too well. It might be a total fluke or I’m just fisching for an answer, but neither of my hunches seem to be leading anywhere.

How bout it Cowpattybill, am I on the right path with either of these?

AHA! (I love it when that happens). I got the numbers part. Now I think we must have to incorporate the letters in order to solve the puzzle. But how?

So did you come up with the same thing with the numbers Mrs Mathteacher? I’m SO stuck on the letters though. Bah!

[must....resist....temptation....to....give....hints.....unngh].

Yes indiedezz - and I just had a revelation about the letters, but I don’t have enough. I’m going to go through the video again…

What is your opinion on the F’s…are any of them in?

I went with no, but you never know i guess

My “first step” was figuring out the numbers and amassing a group of letters (I didn’t count the F’s). Still stymied from there.

I decided not to count the F’s. But after recalculating I now have TOO MANY letters. I’m going to play with them a little…I just know I’m on the verge…

I’ve been trying to read the first set of numbers, but they are very fuzzy, even when the video is maximized. Is anyone else having trouble? I figured out the second and third sets.

Yeah, the first set was a big problem for me but I worked on the last two first, the first then just came together.

Yay!! I got it.

Whoa -
You got the whole thing?

Yes. The whole thing.

Can I ask you how many letters you used?

34 letters. F’s are not in.

Got it. Moving on…

I have the 34 letters. I’ve tried eight different ways and I still can’t get them to make sense. can anyone give me a nudge? PLEASE…

Shuffling the letters is unnecessary.

I know the 34 letters.

I believe I have the three sets of numbers.

I thought I had the method but maybe I’m still missing something. Can someone tell me if it’s important to know what appears to the left of the numbers?

Also, is there a way to view the video more clearly?

No that’s not important.

Since most of you are on this puzzle I will post this here:

I wanted to let you know that someone is well ahead of you all. In the interest of protecting their game stategy I won’t say who or which puzzle he/she is on.

I suggest more collaboration on the message board if you want to catch up.

OK - I’m still lost. I decoded the numbers and have a list of 34 letters. Another little nudge?

The nudge will have to come from us mrsmathteacher, I doubt they’re coming back just yet. These puzzles will trip any single person up though so we all need help eventually.

Speaking of collective brain power, I’m up for some collaborative catch-up.

I keep seeing references to decoding numbers. I feel like I’m staring at pictures of feet, clocks and rulers again. I’m pretty sure I have the right numbers but see no messages about decoding or solving them by themselves.

Mrsmathteacher - just take the letters in the order that they come in. They do spell something(s)

Don’t welsh out on us, we need to know if we’re heading in the right direction. If a person gets the wrong order or the wrong letters they can get the wrong message. We can find words but not all of them are of the english language.

Don’t miss the trees because of the forest.

UncleBen: We found no *message*. Nor any English language…

Think more of a list of identifiable “items” that form a prompt to the answer.

OK - I finally got it. Those are some silly words. No wonder it wasn’t obvious. UncleBen - I think you’re on the right track with your words.

Man, was I making it a lot harder than I should have…

UncleBen- What is the easiest way to convert numbers to letters? Try that for the number part.

Thanks for #39!

Closer…

Man, was I making it a lot harder than I should have…

Good tip mrsmathteacher.

Don’t welsh out on us

Another good tip. Thanks UncleBen.

If it’s still greek to you, try roamin’ around.

Hoping to catch up today but it hasn’t happened.
OK Got the numbers “game” but cannot find a relation to the letters.
ppl have mentioned other languages. any hints on which to look for?
Tried the one aluded to in #42 but it didn’t help

We solved it with only a partial understanding of the letter string and broad sense of the numbers “game” you allude to in #44.

If you have any foreign friends you might show them what you have and hope for a lucky break.

Otherwise, know that if I were to say to you, “It’s all greek to me” (#43), I’m colloquially saying that I don’t understand it and must search for answers elsewhere.

Thanks again UncleBen
Got it just as I read your latest hint…I have learnt some history today : )

Hmm - do the slides the letters fall on have meaning as to how we figure out the words?

Nope

I feel I’m stumped again! I have decoded the numbers, and found the “game” but can’t seem to make sense of the letter string.

would researching the “game” more help me at all? Or are they two separate parts that come together at the end once I’ve found the items from the letters?

wait - I’m on to something….but, can’t quite come up with the correct answer…

What could the letter string have in common with the “game”?

I just watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics and the folks there could help you. Since you probably can’t ask them in person, your next best bet is looking online.

I initially found a bunch of small words that I thought made a sentence or clues but didn’t.

If you’re still stumped, take a break and play a different game like cards or watch the history channel for awhile and see if anything comes to mind.

Addendum:

My mention of small words is not a hint to look for small words but to avoid seeing them.
