As I’ve mentioned before, the game is delayed until February.
I was doing some research recently online and came across a video clip of a foriegn made movie that had the subtitles replaced with a funnier version. I thought it quite comical. Then I discovered that this particular clip has been edited numerous times with many variations to the subtitles.
I found it so interesting in fact that I created my own version of the clip.
An example of a widespread “leg riddle”. An old man sat down on a three-legged stool to milk his cow. When the cow kicked him, he hit her with the stool.

So the site looks a little different. I decided it was time for a change. I wanted a new look and new colors. So far the feedback has been positive. I guess people were tired of the blue and gray. I don’t know how long I will stick with the current look. I am continuing my search but for now, this is the one that stays. In the meantime, please be patient while I move things around. The layout is different and some of the links are missing (like the Clue Club). I’ll have them back shortly.
One the puzzling front, game 3 development is continuing to progress but at a very slow pace. My personal life has gotten very hectic. Hopefully soon it will slow down and allow me more time for puzzle creating.
I dropped a major sub puzzle (by that I mean something like in game one where each correct answer gave you a number that was part of a set of coordinates) which was really bogging my mind down trying to figure out how to do it. With it out of the picture it has freed me up to think bigger and as it turns out, the game will be better without it. Double bonus!
Still looking at a December release. A new teaser video should be out in a couple weeks.
Not as quickly as I might like but progressing just the same. The second teaser video is out and ready for your viewing pleasure. You can find it at the bottom of the videos section.
Don’t forget to join the Clue Club. It’s only $5 and gives you some nice perks like a 4 hour head start! You also get DOUBLE the prize money, discounts at the Gear Up! store and members-only newsletters that also contain puzzles to solve.
The way it’s shaping up, Game 3: Chasing Shadows will have fewer puzzles than the other games so that 4 hour head start may be quite valuable.
On a different note. I posted a series of Lateral Thinking puzzles that were solved suprisingly fast but seemed to be fun. You can still try to fgure them out. The answer is hidden so you can review the questions without stumbling upon the answer. Feel free to ask more questions. The answer is available by clicking the “Show” link which will reveal the answer.
Assume there are 6 billion people on Earth. What would you estimate to be the result, if you multiply together the number of fingers on every person’s left hand? (For the purposes of this excercise, thumbs count as fingers, for a total of 5 fingers per hand.) If you cannot estimate the number, then try to guess how long the number would be.
Statistically speaking, with that many people on the planet there is bound to be people who have no fingers on their left hand. Any number multiplied by zero is zero.

Empty Earl’s car runs out of gasoline. His car tank holds exactly 13 gallons. He has three empty unmarked containers, which can hold 3 gallons, 6 gallons, and 11 gallons. Using only these containers at the gas station, how can Earl bring back exactly 13 gallons of gasoline? He is not allowed to buy more than 13 gallons or waste any of the fuel.
A normal submarine was on the surface of the sea with its hatches open. It sailed due east for two miles. Then it stopped and went down 30 feet. It then sailed another half mile before going down a further 30 feet. All this time it kept its hatches fully open. The crew survived and were not alarmed in any way. What was going on?
The ship was the Titanic, which hit an iceberg on a fine night when the sea was very flat. If the weather had been worse, then the lookouts would have seen waves hitting the iceberg or heard the iceberg. (Icebergs make groaning noises when they move.) Unfortunately the iceberg wasn’t seen and the rest is history.

During a fuel shortage, Running-On-Empty Randy drove to a gas station and waited in line behind many other motorists. A man in the familiar gas-station uniform walked over and explained to him, “We have a ten dollar limit. To speed things along we’re taking cash only, in advance.” Randy gave the man a ten dollar bill. When he reached the front of the line and pulled up to a pump, he asked for his ten dollars worth of gas. “The limit is five dollars,” replied the attendant. What happened?
A man was sitting in his hotel room watching TV when there was a knock at the door. He opened the door to see a woman whom he had never seen before. She said, “Oh, I’m sorry. I have made a mistake. I thought this was my room.” She then walked down the corridor to the elevator. The man went back into his room and phoned the front desk and told them to apprehand the woman, who he was sure was a thief. What made him so sure?
